Keep forgetting to tell people about another hobby I have and that is the passion for nice cars. Just on a year ago we purchased a very rare (only 65 built) VP HSV 5th Anniversay ClubSport, we are the 2nd owners and I have known this car since new. She has been to a few shows for the first time in her life and we have taken out some 1st place trophies. We are very proud to be owners of this fine vehicle, I have put up some pictures of her and yo can view them here.

No news for a while as there hasnt been much to say, I have added an online status for the scanner so you can check and see how many people are online and if the server is running, if you cant get to the page the server is offline :-) The server will be restarted from time to time as it seems to gobble memory at a great rate of knots.

New cameras are in place, still pictures at the moment but updated every 60secs on the web page and 30seconds on the actual server, have to put up 2 more cameras and still trying to work out how to stream them all on the same port but from what I have found out I am going to have problems :(

New cameras have arrived, have to run the cables and sort out a streaming server for the 4 camera's, have added some links to the links page.

I have moved away from Windows Media Encoder as the primary sorce for the stream from the scanner as a lot of people cannot hook up to it due to the visual side of it and the compression stuff (especially Mac users), apart from that it limited the amount of people that could get to it and the sound was bit ordinary. So now I am recommending that you use Winamp as the listener and I will add Alpha Tagging in the next fews days. There is a 7-10sec delay which is a lot better than the old method.

I have invested in 4 CCD Colour Cameras which will be placed around the house in various locations which will stream like the original camera rather than still shots. Just waiting for the cameras to arrive.

The Guestbook has been offline for some time now due to abuse. I have been in contact with the developer who is in process of adding some code so that I can approve postings, I am looking forward to this.

Webcam is back online, have to relocate it so we can see Black Mountain Tower.

TRN in the ACT
ACT Ambulance and Fire Brigade run encrypted systems you will not be able to read their transmissions with any scanner. ACTSES and ACTBFS are using Digital across 60 odd channels (easily found on the ACA website as they are "public" freqs). ACTBFS will be forced to use the old analog in the country until NSW update there GRN. If you want to buy a digital scanner (only from USA at the moment but sometimes on EBAY) what you need to know is that they run a Smart Zone 4.1 digital system with 9600 control channel and dual mode bases in the 406 to 419 Mhz band, they will get more frequency allocations next year so the band may grow a bit.
The NSW GRN is still largely a analog network which is why you can scan the NSW GRN, that is changing to, the NSW government gave Motorola a $17M order for new XTS/XTL 5000 gear last month to commence going all digital but I think it will take a good many years to replace 26,000 radios.
